Duties
and Responsibilities: Design,
measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for client according to written
optical prescription or specification. Assist client with selecting frames.
Measure customer for size of eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and
eye measurements and optical prescription. Prepare work order for optical
laboratory containing instructions for grinding and mounting lenses in frames.
Verify exactness of finished lens spectacles. Adjust frame and lens position to
fit client. May shape or reshape frames.

Education: Opticians
are healthcare professionals who prepare eyewear and serve customers as they
shop for glasses or contacts. Many opticians enter this career field with just
a high school diploma, though certificate and associate's degree programs in
opticianry are available and may be preferred by some employers. In addition to
completing a training program, opticians in some states will need to become
licensed. The rate of employment for opticians is expected to grow at a faster
than normal pace in the coming decade.
Reflection:
No I would not like to be a Optician because 2 reasons. 1 because its is a very
difficult and delicate job with the eye.2 because it takes a lot of work and
time and it’s a very hard time
